Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto (2017) // This is Not Just a Collector Edition {New Perfume}

A picture of the 30 ml flacon

You might blink and miss the fact that Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto is not another collector edition of the same original La Petite Robe Noire, but actually a new fragrance misleadingly housed in a bottle looking like a collector flacon meant to spice up a mainstay pillar...

There have been so many collector bottles, the confusion might be understandable.

So, Black Perfecto is a new eau de parfum composition by perfumers Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk, the latter being the author of the first scent issued in 2009 and re-worked by Wasser in 2012. Our blog review is of the 2009 original.

The idea was to add a triple layer of rose interest to the dark cherry tones of the original edp. You get rosewater, rose essence and rose absolute. But you can also expect to smell a note of black tea leaves.

The edp has a head note of Bulgarian Rose Water; the heart features a rose essence and an absolute of Grasse rose together with almond. In the base, deeper notes of black tea, black leather, black musk, tonka and patchouli sketch out the black theme of the latest Guerlain feminine perfume.

From a fashion perspective, Black Perfecto looks at another basic of the modern woman's feminine wardrobe. If you pay attention to such details, you'll notice that many women working in traditionally masculine environment often opt for a perfecto, not necessarily black, but a perfecto all the same, be it pink, with a floral pattern, or neon colored. They are the new shoulder pads of the everyday fashion planet and workplace.

Available in 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml for 58,50€, 79,90€ and 118€ respectively.
