Maison Cartier will inaugurate a series of multisensory experiences in October 2017, a new direction they wish to explore mixing art and science - bioclimate here - with OSNI - Objet sentant non identifié 1, Le nuage parfumé (Non-Identified Odorous Object 1, The Fragrant Cloud)...
In a large glass cube, which is a walk-in architecture, an artificially controlled cloud is suspended inviting you to ascend through the fragrant form. The view outside is the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
This upcoming installation is the result of a collaboration between Cartier, in-house perfumer Mathilde Laurent and Transsolar, an agency based in Munich specializing in energy and climate concepts relying on the combined research of engineers, physicists and architects.
The Fragrant Cloud takes shape thanks to a system which "controls the air in strata composing a new architectural space at the limit of the intangible." It will be the first time that perfume will be made part of this architecture of a new sort.
What you will smell is L'Envol de Cartier albeit with new sensations and emotions thanks to the innovative diffusing system.
