A Little Girl - Flight Movement // Une petite fille - mouvement d'envol © Chant Wagner 2017
Day 15 of our Advent Street Photography project. This was taken at the same baptism ceremony we featured yesterday. As we already said, children enlivened the church premises with their games turning it into a momentary, partial playground...
This little girl was particularly graceful with her dreamy white skirt, liveliness, but also pensiveness. I was glad I could capture her in an instant in which she seems to be ready to take flight, pointing to something interesting up in the air. What is it? We have no idea. Perhaps, she is just gesturing "Wait for me!" to the other kids.
I also liked how the perspective leads the eye to see through the suggestion of a dedalus. It reminds you of old Dutch paintings in which doors are open on different rooms with a travelling effect for the vision, creating scenes which are so good at suggesting the inner workings of a domestic setting.
