Guerlain's latest flanker to L'Homme Idéal (2014) is called L'Homme Idéal L'Intense, which as its name indicates, brings out more olfactive presence - a notion which has been interpreted here as smelling of hotness and smokiness, combined...
The humorous tag line remains "The ideal man is a myth, his perfume - a reality." Perfumer Thierry Wasser composed this intensified eau de parfum blend inspired by the hotness of chili pepper, smoke - and the signature almondy, creamy and dusky tonka bean of the original scent.
Top notes are sweet and spicy with chili, almond and cardamom seguing into a heart of Bulgarian rose, leather accord and cistus ladanifer. Base notes are patchouli, sandalwood, tonka, a tincture of vanilla and smoke.
The oriental woody spicy fragrance is housed in a black lacquered bottle enhanced by the "vigorous dynamism of yellow." The guilloché detail on the heavy flacon cap is a reference to the universe of horlogerie.
