Guerlain is reissuing a rethought version of its 2000 launch, Météorites, now called Météorites Le Parfum, to distinguish it more surely from the beauty face powder it takes inspiration from, a cult product...
The pastel colors of the powder "billes" or "marbles" which compose the cosmetics product have been interpreted, just as in the past, with the scent of violet. The new fragrance is signed by in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser, who explained that he wished to reproduce his own first impression of entering the lab in which the Météorites powder is made, and as he felt enveloped by the perfume.
In 2013, a Météorites home fragrance had been introduced based on this initial experience, five years after the perfumer's arrival at the helm of Guerlain labs.
The new eau de toilette has top notes of bergamot, apple and green notes seguing into a heart of roses and violets, next followed by white musks and woodsy notes.
The flacon is shaped after Terracotta Voile d'Eté Le Parfum rather than going back to its original form reminiscent of an 18th century clock design characteristic of Bal à Versailles by Jean Desprez, another perfumery classic.
SRP is 74€ for 100 ml.
