Yves Saint Laurent has released a new chapter in the Black Opium saga called Black Opium Eau de Parfum Intense, which reprises the signature coffee note of the original perfume, now laced with the slightly venomous and certainly bitterly inflected, legendary absinth...
The composition by Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Olivier Cresp and Honorine Blanc of Firmenich is labeled as a warm fruity gourmand oriental. The ad campaign is coded an electric blue to suggest night life and - more to the point - the life of your instincts, which becomes unbriddled at night thanks to the "addictive" scent.
Black coffee and an essence of absinth draw the main new accord. The heart features absolutes of orange blossom and licorice. The base showcases a note of blue absinth, the liquor.
Available in 30 ml, 50 ml & 90 ml and in a 10 ml rollerball. Prices are $29; $72; $94; $124.
This is a limited edition.
