Guerlain is launching a new flanker to La Petite Robe Noire (2009) ten years after the original was born called La Petite Robe Noire Ma Robe Velours, which is said to feature accords of "black roses" and violets...
It is however not touted as an anniversary perfume, but rather as one more chapter in the story of the scent.
In-house perfumer Thierry Wasser has styled the new fragrance to come across as "sophisticated; haunting; powdery." Rose is reported to be the signature note of all the LPRNs, this time it is allied with violets so as to result in an impression of "extreme femininity."
Violet is also a recognizable note in Guerlain products such as the Meteorites powder or the Insolence fragrance range.
The fruity-floral eau de parfum opens on notes of black cherry, luminous bergamot and mandarin. The floral heart showcases a bouquet of black roses and "delicate" powdery violets. The base rests on black tea, tonka bean and patchouli.
SRPs are: 65€/30 ml; 97€/50 ml; 136€/100 ml.
