This is for me one of the new beauty products to watch and test this spring 2010, the upcoming Mascara Hypnôse Precious Cells by Lancôme.

I admit to having been excited like everyone else by the research in mascara brushes that we have seen in the past couple of years and then to feeling a bit dazed after a while. At any rate it's hard to follow the output since all the mascara designers have started to dream and draw while they sleep it seems, otherwise how could there be so many new brushes out there!...

ELF The Beauty Encyclopedia {Shopping Tip}

E.L.F. (Eyes. Lips. Face) have put out a very appealing makeup set offering a course in the art of beautifying your face. It's called The Beauty Encyclopedia, in 3 volumes. Each tome contains the tips, colors and tools you need to start immediately.

I like the subtle neutral palette which says "wearable" instead of "industry left-over". Don't you hate those color palettes that seem to have been put together just to say, "Hi, I'm new and I don't care if I make any sense"?...

Bourjois Rendez-Vous a Paris: Makeup Collector Alert

For the Holidays, Bourjois is releasing a collection of five eye-shadows and three blushes repackaged in a collector edition titled Rendez-Vous à Paris (Rendez-Vous in Paris). The iconic little boxes have been decorated by artist Nathalie Lété to celebrate the year of establishment of the brand in Paris in 1863 when reportedly they started baking their colors in the heart of the city of lights...

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Treasure Brush Set & Coral Reef Highlighter {New Beauty Products - Cheeks - Eyes}

Check out these new cosmetic brushes by Sonia Kashuk. Don't they look great and as summery as can be with this coral-branch theme going on? The Hidden Treasure Brush Set and the Coral Reef Highlighter need to be bought separately. The handles are made of an aluminium alloy from what I can tell. Lovely higher-end design for a beer budget.

They're new and available at Target for $19.99 and $12.99 respectively.

Nars Miami Sun Set (2008) {New Beauty Products - Eyes - Lips - Nails}

If only visually, as found in their packages, the saturated-color trend this summer is drool-worthy and Nars is now offering fiery colors to match the sun this month of July with its new limited-edition set called Miami Sun Set. It includes a yellow and brown Duo Eye Shadow in Sundance, which they describe as being golden and terracotta, a pot of Lip Lacquer in Capucine, and a red Nail Polish in Dovima.

The deep red-orange of Capucine which seems to be a cross between a tangerine and a blood orange is a rarer shade and is just luscious to look at; if I had to buy just one item, it would be that one. Actually, I wished I could just dip my finger in that pot right now! It looks much paler on the Nars website however. There they have both Capucine and Dovima, but not Sundance, as separate items.

The set is sold exclusively on Sephora.com for $65 (a $72 value), with free shipping.

Yves Saint Laurent Launches New African Colors Collection & Everlong Mascara Waterproof {New Beauty Products - Skin- Cheeks - Eyes}

Yves Saint Laurent, in keeping with their tradition of exoticism, is introducing a new collection of makeup for the summer this time inspired by Africa. YSL, the former great couturier (see also images of his funeral), is well known for having loved to read richly illustrated books about distant lands and derive creative ideas from them, without even having traveled to the places depicted. This trait of his is considered part of his stylistic genius.

This summer of 2008, Val Garland, the Make-Up Artistic Advisor for YSL is offering a strikingly colored line of makeup which includes in particular, a bronzer, Soleil d'Afrique (African Sun), an eye-shadow palette titled Palette Couleurs d'Afrique, a Tinted Veil Tan Booster.
