An Article on Men's Colognes & Attitudes Towards Perfumes {The 5th Sense in the News}

I love this article because the interviewed SA in it innocently yet very accurately defines in a nutshell the art of fragrance which is in essence, derivative, being all about nuances and variations, more like cooking than painting or literature (unless they want to play on variation):

"She  (Sue Vandall, a SA) likes to "push the underdogs" when men come into the store to buy cologne. Vandall said her favorite is Reaction by Kenneth Cole and she compared the scent with Sean John, which is one of the best-selling colognes. They are similar but also very different (my emphasis)."

Rochas has launched a new duo of perfumes called Désir Pour Femme and Désir Pour Homme. What else could be associated with desire but chocolate? Both fragrances contain sensual notes of chocolate or dry cacao. The fragrances were created by Procter & Gamble in collaboration with Quest.....

Estée Lauder is preparing to launch their new Azurée Soleil Tom Ford Estée Lauder Collection Summer 2007 line of fragrances and makeup which will be available in April. Following the smashing success of the Tom Ford Estée Lauder Azurée Oil last year, the company is releasing the Body Oil Spray again while adding fragrance newcomers to the line in the forms of a body lotion and an Eau Fraîche/Skinscent. The review here is for the "fresh water" alcohol-based version of their best-seller.....
