Vetyverio is the latest opus by Diptyque one of the earliest so-called "niche" perfume houses to have been established in the 1960s in Paris with this original phenomenological meaning of offering confidential and unusual perfumes which are not known by the wider public but whose existence becomes impossible to ignore among connoisseurs. It so happens, maybe not coincidentally due to this historical precedence, that the Diptyque boutique tucked away on a quiet stretch of the Boulevard Saint-Germain not far off Place Maubert came to represent my first-time entry-point to this universe of half-hidden scents whose existence you learn of by word of mouth.
