Glade Limited-Edition Holidays Candles: Pomegranate & Cranberries, Fresh Pine & Cedar {Home Fragrance Reviews}

The Glade folks sent me a couple of their new candles, namely Pomegranate & Cranberries, Fresh Pine & Cedar and Jasmine & Wild Orchid from The Fragrance Collection. I haven't tried the latter yet but thought better to plan ahead for the Holidays. So, I wanted to let you know that I think that especially Pomegranate & Cranberries is a great choice for an affordable, festive holiday-feeling candle and not just because it is colored red. Fresh Pine & Cedar, which I thought at first would be wafting more of the note of Christmas turned out to be less atmospheric than Pomegranate & Cranberries.

The first one is very good, even great - I would offer it to friends and family or recommend it - the other one, good - I would smell it and find it pleasant but would not buy it myself or recommend it over other candles necessarily and I will explain why...

Acqua Di Parma Red, Yellow, Black & White Candles {Home Fragrance} {New Perfumes}

Italian niche brand Acqua Di Parma has released a new collection of scented candles for the home titled Design and Cube that offers a wonderfully bold, colorful and modernist décor appeal. Good to behold and hopefully good to smell too.

Yellow is scented with the classic perfume of the house, Colonia (see also Colonia Intensa for Men; Edizione Murano). Red rests on a spicy accord. Black is dedicated to amber. The Cube sub-set also comprises White, a clove-scented candle.

The Design ones are available in two different sizes. The big ones burn for 60 hours and the small ones for 30.

L'Artisan Parfumeur Burberry Crocus (2008) {New Fragrance - Candle}

Last year, L'Artisan Parfumeur started a collaboration with British fashion brand Burberry working in particular with artistic director Christopher Bailey to release a series of four-seasons candles. L'Artisan have lately been engaged in a number of co-branding ventures, bringing their know-how and good reputation to similarly finely reputed brands interested in developing perfumes.

The first one in the collection was Burberry Hearth introduced in the fall of 2007 which was inspired by the autumnal atmosphere of the English countryside with its scents of fall leaves and forest-y humus, which all sound very appealing this October 2008...

Pierre Frey Bougie Marie-Antoinette (2006) {Home Fragrance}

Parisian home textile designer Pierre Frey has a scented candle or bougie parfumée paying homage to the ex-queen of France Marie-Antoinette. It is simply named after her.

As already indicated earlier, there is a veritable Marie-Antoinette fashion going on in France, fueled in part also by the popular pastel-colored, gourmand movie by Sofia Coppola (2006). The candle is said to be centered on "an accord of rice powder softly evoking with nostalgia the French perfumery of yore"...

L'Artisan Parfumeur Jatamansi Candle & Bath & Shower Gel (2008) {Home Fragrance} {Bath & Body} {Green Products}

L'Artisan Parfumeur will release in May of 2008 two new products in its 100 % natural and organic Jatamansi (Himalayan Nard) line bearing the Ecocert and Cosmébio labels and which in fact exceed those standards according to the press release. They are a Scented Candle and a Bath and Shower Gel.....
