Two new oil-based perfumes by Guerlain called Oud Sensuel and Garden Sensuel have been released. They are said to have been inspired by the beauty and wisdom traditions of India and the Orient. Artistic director Sylvaine Delacourte developed the fragrances with perfumer Randa Hammami from Symrise.....

Garden Sensuel includes notes of neroli, rose, white flowers, and peach on a woody oriental almondey base.

Oud Sensuel has notes of oud, cardamom, iris, Tonka bean, and Virginian cedar.

Both perfume oils come in 20 ml bottles. They can be worn on their own or layered with other fragrances.

Each perfume oil retails for 270 Euros. They correspond to parfum concentrations except that oil was used as in Arabian countries.

For more information on these oils and other future Guerlain launches in 2007, you can read our previous post here.

I have worked with Randa and she creates some lovely fragrances.

I find the concept quite attractive in the Guerlain context, as it is a bit unusual. You make us want to test these oils even more:)

The Middle-East has a strong heritage of perfume oil. Amouage will be introducing this heritage to the western culture very soon. Watch this space...:-)

We're excited:)

Yes, it's interesting to see that Guerlain went a step further and took its inspiration fully from that tradition.
