Diesel Fuel For Life For Her & Him {New Fragrances} {Scented Image}

Fuel For Life Ad.jpg
As previously reported (please see story board), Diesel is launching Fuel For Life For Her and Fuel For Life For Him. The global launch is scheduled for this coming Monday. The women's scent is described as a floral chypre and was composed by team of perfumers Annick Ménardo and Thierry Wasser. The men's scent is said to be a powdery fougère and was created by Annick Ménardo together with Jacques Cavallier......

Fuel For Life For Her has "top notes of mandarin and pink pepper, heart notes of blackcurrant and jasmine and patchouli and musk at the base of the olfactory pyramid." The men's cologne "has top notes of anise and grapefruit, middle notes of raspberry and lavender and base notes of heliotrope and dry woods."

Price points for Fuel For Life For Him will range from $44.50 for a 50-ml. eau de toilette spray to $59.50 for the 75-ml. size. Fuel For Life For Her ranges from $49.50 for the 50-ml. edt to $64.50 for the 75-ml. version. Both scents will have a luxury 75-ml. bottle dubbed "Bling Bling" — decorated with jewelry — that will retail for $95.

In addition to the scents' particular packaging, Rosso designed two separate bronze and gold pocket chains that hold 15-ml. Fuel For Life vials, to be sold alongside the scents for $95. "It's very Diesel," pronounced Rosso, who hooked it onto his jeans and showed how the device twisted open to reveal the miniflacon. The perfume accessories will be launched separately in mid-October.

  3. I was wondering if you could help me,
    On the packaging and in the adverts to this product its claims its been finally legalised. Can I ask what aspects of his fragrance were illegal or is this just used as a marketing tool.
    Any help with this question will be very forth comming

  4. Hi Michael,

    This is just a marketing tag. The joke is based on this allusion to diesel as a fuel, that normally should not be sold in perfume bottles for personal consumption:)) It's the kind of approach Dior took for Poison, i.e., huh, very dangerous, even illegal, yet very desirable at the same time.

  5. Hi,

    You wouldn't happen to know the name of the actress in the female fragrance advert do you?

    Not the one in the picture above. The one I'm on about had big curly hair.

    Thanks.

  6. don't be so certain .. my understanding is that one of the components & i cannot remember the name of it was just legalized in the UK. It's something that's never been handled in the US. That's where that tag came from.

  7. Well, that's pretty vague and I see that your email also is rather vague: nonprofitcompany@gmail.com?

    Here's what Women's Wear Daily writes:

    "As a teaser to the launch, L'Oréal created an antimarketing campaign, consisting of a fake activist organization on the Internet, exhorting viewers to join a movement opposing legalization of what cryptically is referred to as "Fuel for Life." On Monday, when the fragrances are launched and the mock battle is lost, all the signed-up members will be redirected to the Diesel Web site, which will morph into an e-commerce proposition for the U.S. only."
