Singer Rihanna, who did not hesitate to harness the power of the internet to look for a perfume name back in March 2010 asking her fans to provide her with suggestions, has now settled for a beauty-inspired fragrance name based on her recent tat reading "Rebelle Fleur" which she got on her neck in August 2010 at East Side Ink Tattoo Parlor in NYC...

While the tattoo is officially in French, its grammar has been personalized so that it starts with a "R" word, as R is a fetish letter to Rihanna. Normally, it should read "Fleur rebelle", which means "Rebellious flower."

The fragrance offers a twist on the tat and is called Reb'l Fleur. It starts with a "R" just like her own name. Another early name, "Route 22" had the requisite "R" in it too. You guessed it, "R" had to be in there, somewhere.

Rihanna is hoping that, like her tattoo, her perfume will convey her message of emporwerment to women well, saying "I believe a woman should dare to be different - willing to live her life for herself and not for other people," she further explained that, "This fragrance is about my passion for individuality - being expressive and empowering, yes, but also emotional and intriguing. I promise you Reb'l Fleur will not be easily forgotten."

Reb'l Fleur will start its roll-out in February 2011.

  1. this smells good! its fruity, sweet, warm, coconuty vanilla creamy scent....top notes are loud, fruity and sweet..like beyonce heat...then turns coconuty vanilla sweet fruity dark berry drydown....nice....some might think its too sweet...but, if you like sweet warm scents this is a great pick. its not flowery by far..or fresh...this is a fruity warm scent but its not musky like Heat...its better plus, sexy!
