Robert de Niro in Commercial for Tribeca Film Festival Chez Vous {Movie News}

tribeca_de_niro.jpgRobert de Niro is a very, very, very serious actor, but then he's also played in a bunch of commercials. Not that commercials are not serious (business), but they do not require the same level of involvement and endurance, and they usually are justified by lucrative gains...

In this latest effort, money crosses over more with culture - well, OK, American Express for which he was a spokesperson is part of culture, but still - as here the actor is playing to support Tribeca Film Festival, which he co-founded in 2002 with Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff.

See him vaunt the merits of watching the whole festival selection on Time Warner Cable if you couldn't make it to the event. The dialogues are not very refined, nor sophisticated, nor subtle, nor original, and even stereotypical, but fortunately, De Niro is able to save the day a bit thanks to his Taxi-Driver and Raging-Bull gravitas.
