James Denton is New Face of Caractère by Daniel Hechter {Celebrity Perfumes} {Perfume Images & Ads}

 Actor James Denton of Desperate Housewives fame has been appointed the new spokesperson for masculine fragrance Caractère by Daniel Hechter. The TV series star, who plays sexy plumber type Mike Delfino, worked for Hechter in the past for their fashion ad campaigns. The new ad campaign shot by Les Skinny - a duo of French directors - will debut around holidays of 2012...

 Denton, who lives in Montana, explains that his favorite smells in life are woods because they remind him of the carpenting around him. He also loves the scents of the leathers of horse saddles and baseball gloves. 

Caractère (Character) was launched in 1989. It is classified as a woodsy chypre created by perfumer Alain Verjus. Its notes are cinnamon and clove in the top, lavender and sage in the heart and vetiver and agarwood in the base.

An alternative listing for the fragrance notes proposes to read: Top : bergamot, lavender, artemisia, basil; Heart : fir tree wood, pepper, olibanum, jasmine; Base : oak bark, leather, patchouli, cedar.

Lists of notes are in part interpretations of some of the most relevant ingredients and facets included in a perfume. A leather accord, for example, is the result of several notes, not the scent of steeped leather per se, well, except for Thierry Mugler.
