Yozakura or Cherry-Blossom Gazing at Night {Fragrant Images}

An admittedly further refined experience of cherry-blossom gazing during day-time is cherry-blossom gazing at night known as "Yozakura" in Japanese. Paper lanterns are suspended so as to highlight the flowers and prolong the joys of floral contemplation into the darker hours of the day...

We hope this can inspire perfumers to think of nocturnal cherry blossom compositions that play with the glow of candle lights, the frailty of rice paper, the different nuances arising from flowers smelt at night, the atmosphere of conviviality as people take their meals under the cherry trees.
