British toiletry and fragrance house Crabtree & Evelyn will launch a new limited-edition perfume collection entitled Night Garden from August 2013 comprising four compositions called Ottoman Rose, Kashmir Musk, Assam Oudh and Persian Thé. They are explicitly inspired by the Middle East and also mark a step-up in the house's politics of exclusivity...

"At night the senses sharpen; a whisper becomes a shout, taste more powerfully pungent and the sense of smell wonderfully intense. Against black everything is brighter. Crabtree & Evelyn, known for its celebration of the best botanical specimens from around the world, invites us into the garden at night."

Crabtree & Evelyn point out the fact that the scents remain true to the English sensibility the house is known for while offering a new level of intensity inspired from the Orient, paying homage to the "scented palate of the Middle East."

Persian Thé is a smoky black tea fragrance with cardamom, cinnamon, Atlas cedarwood, labdanum and amber.

This Orientalist library will be in Harrods Beauty Apothecary from August 15, 2013 as an exclusive, then more widely available from September.

Each 100 ml eau de parfum is priced at £140.
