As the period of Advent starts, here is a new eau de cologne created by Excelsis Fine Fragrances to pay homage to Pope Francis. Like its namesakes - Saint Francis of Assisi and Pope Francis - the perfume is a simple soul of a scent resting on bergamot and sandalwood and is just called Francis...
According to the brand website,
“Created by Excelsis to celebrate the Petrine succession of Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Bishop of Rome, Pope Francis, Pontifex Maximus, 266th Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church. Francis is an engaging, fresh fragrance with a citrusy top note of bergamot and a soft, woody drydown of sandalwood. Smooth and soothing, A grand aftershave.”
Excelsis debuted their religious fragrance collection in 2006 with The Pope's Cologne which is based on an original recipe for a perfume once worn by Pie IX. Fred Hass, the founder of the brand and nose behind the fragrances is also inspired by nature like with Camp 22, the scent of a deer camp in the forest in the fall.
