Van Cleef & Arpels have introduced a new variation on First (1976) called First Edition Blanche inspired by a wintry white landscape. The perfume is signed by perfumer Nathalie Gracia-Cetto of Givaudan who brings her own twist to the original composition by nose Jean-Claude Ellena...

According to the press release, the perfumer reinterpreted the original fragrance "by touches" as when an Impressionist painter reinterprets a landscape, that is based on her "impressions". Nathalie Gracia-Cetto made consistent use of a palette of "white" notes to capture the sensation of a snowy winter scene.

The olfactory signature of First and its aldehydic opening have been vivified thanks to bergamot. The floral heart features a bouquet of white roses and jasmine. The base rests on a suave vanilla and white musks.

The flacon mimics white opaline while the textile flower hints at the opulent signature floral bouquet of the fragrance. This is a limited-edition, not to be confused with Un Air de First by the same perfumer, which started out as a limited-edition in 2011 and is still available today.

Price: 79€ for 60 ml of eau de parfum
