Versace released a new men's fragrance earlier this year called Eros. The composition, which in its message goes all-out on self-woship inspired by the classical-world, Greco-Roman tradition of physical self-cultivation, is signed by perfumer Aurélien Guichard of Givaudan...
"Love, passion, beauty, and desire are the key concepts behind the new men’s fragrance by Versace. As Greek mythology and classic sculpture have characterized the Versace world since the beginning, so the perfection of the male body is evoked with an allusion to Eros, the god of love. Versace Eros is a fragrance for a strong, passionate man, who is master of himself."
In contemporary language, this would translate as a fragrance aiming physical fitness geeks.
The fresh, oriental, woody cologne features notes of fresh mint leaves, Italian lemon zest, green apple, tonka beans, ambroxan amber, geranium flower, vanilla, cedarwood from Atlas and Virginia, vetiver and oakmoss.
The blue of the bottle is meant to symbolize the Mediterranean sea.
Price: $62/$80/$108; the design of the bottle changes significantly enough with the size (see above the 1.7 fl oz and 6.7 fl oz sizes).
