Italian fashion designer Valentino has launched a new fragrance for men simply called Uomo by Valentino. The fragrance was created by perfumer Olivier Polge. The artistic direction seems to have tapped into the imagery of a film by Visconti,

"This scent is inspired by a specific scene at the end of an aristocratic family lunch, on a huge table set on the terrace of a Roman Palazzo...

Notes are emanating from the garden of the palazzo, as well as some beverages and desserts still on the table after everyone has left…"

What is more surprising is to see how frankly the gourmand thematic is exposed. The brand are telling you that the gustatory notes are not just a facet of the perfume but the main theme. It meshes both food and atmosphere.

The eau de toilette is described as a smooth aromatic leather fragrance. The composition opens on top notes of bergamot and myrtle seguing into a heart of roasted coffee and gourmand gianduja cream before deepening further thanks to cedar wood and leather in the base.
