London-based niche perfume house Shay and Blue have launched a new, gustatory perfume called Salt Caramel, which is directly inspired by the scent and taste of a specific treat, Sea Salt Caramel Truffles by Charbonnel et Walker, rather than just the general idea of a salty-sweet and buttery caramel toffee...

The gourmand composition is signed by Julie Massé of Mane, their in-house nose, who works for a fragrance company where they have been brainstorming quite a bit about foody accords lately.

Mane are also the company behind Womanity by Thierry Mugler and the developers of an innovative caviar and fig accord.

This is not the first time that the house has been interested in the caramel range of nuances. A previous perfume by the house, Amber Rose, features a dulce de leche accord.
