Van Cleef & Arpels have issued a new opus in their exclusive line, La Collection Extraordinaire, with Moonlight Patchouli, a unisex composition inspired by the dark halo of the moon...

The fragrance was composed by perfumer Sonia Constant of Givaudan, who worked on dual facets of leather and floral powder. Men are reported to bring out more the woody, leathery side of the scent, while women's skin enhance its powdery and floral aspect.

As a library of scents dedicated to the exploration of raw materials, the once very fashionable 19th century ingredient, which is popular to this day in France, is said to be showcased as a modern patchouli, streamlined and edited of its antiquarian asperities.

The eau de parfum features notes of Bulgarian rose, iris, leather, fruits and patchouli.
