This spring season is starting with a big bang of announcements regarding trendy collections of scents to come. After Chanel and Tom Ford, Matthew Williamson is proposing The Collection. It will include four scents called Lotus, Warm Sand, Jasmine Sambac, and Incense whose inspirations are derived from notes contained in the initial fragrance created under the Matthew Williamson label.....

"Lotus is meant to recall a summer evening in Bali, for example, and has notes of magnolia, cassis and bergamot, plus a lotus flower accord. Warm Sand was created to evoke Morocco and features notes of ginger lily, musk and sandalwood. Ibiza-inspired Jasmine Sambac includes jasmine sambac notes, while Incense, an homage to the mountains of western India, has frankincense, patchouli and labdanum notes. The juices were concocted by International Flavors & Fragrances perfumer Clement Gavarry."

The new perfumes are meant to be worn alone or layered, therefore encouraging the wearer to personalize their scents. The Collection will be available at Selfridges in London first for two weeks from February 15 and distributed internationally from March.

Each flacon of 50 ml will retail for 35 pounds or $69 at current exchange rate.
