Issey Miyake has launched a new seasonal limited edition of its classic fragrance L'Eau D'Issey originally created in 1991/1992 by Jacques Cavallier. It helped define a new generation of transparent aquatic fragrances which was a hallmark of the 1990s. This limited edition is called Une Goutte Sur Un Pétal (A Drop On A Petal) and was created by perfumer Alberto Morillas, a friend of Jacques Cavallier, working with the concept of using "guest notes" (to stress the integrity of the original itself)....

"The fragrance top now features mandarin and orange zest, while the heart includes mimosa. The dry down has been enriched with an amber note, for added density."

"The original’s rose and aquatic themes have been retained, but the original idea of flowing water has been changed to one which evokes a misty/dewy atmosphere. A garden in early morning, with a dewdrop on a flower petal, was the key inspiration."

Alberto Morillas said I greatly admire L’Eau d’Issey,” [...] “While I have accepted the challenge of reinterpreting it, I have only the greatest respect for the ideals it has represented since its creation.”

You can now purchase Une Goutte Sur Un Pétal for $62 at Macy's and Nordstrom
