Evody, A New Niche Perfume Boutique in Paris {Scented Paths & Fragrant Addresses}

Evody.jpg

Evody is a new Parisian niche perfumery located between Saint-Michel and Odéon in the Latin Quarter that has opened at the beginning of December 2006. The name Evody is borrowed from the Bible and refers to a woman who is said to have been always on a quest for new perfumes. It is managed by a mother and daughter team, Régine and Cérine Droin. They bring in their experience of selective perfumery and were encouraged to open the boutique by Sylvaine Delacourte, the artistic director of Guerlain......

Their catalogue comprises niche brand names like The Different Company, Etro, Serge Lutens, Acqua di Parma or Stéphanie de Saint-Aignan. They also carry designer fragrances by Comme des Garçons, Marc Jacobs, or Bensimon. Home fragrances include Linari, Di Toscana, Bougies Jacques Garcia. Fashion was not neglected and accessories are also available.

The perfumes are experienced with ink-wells made of material rather than the classic blotters. The design of the boutique is sleek and chic, playing with subdued mauve and brown tones.

Customers can benefit from a free personalized consultation service. Evody also organizes perfumery workshops around the themes of the History of Perfumery, Secrets of Perfumers, or Raw Materials. The latter include topics such as Flowers, Resins, and Citruses. The workshops last from 1h30 to 2 hours, starting at 9h30 in the morning. You can register for 45 Euros or 55 Euros (raw materials) and breakfast is included. There, you will also learn about the art of fragrance-applying.

Thanks for the news -this sounds like a fun shop!

Do you have any idea whether the workshops are offered in English, or only in French?

AnnE,

I asked and they said that they're only in French.
