L'Artisan Parfumeur will release in May of 2008 two new products in its 100 % natural and organic Jatamansi (Himalayan Nard) line bearing the Ecocert and Cosmébio labels and which in fact exceed those standards according to the press release. They are a Scented Candle and a Bath and Shower Gel.....

The candle was created by perfumer Karine Vinchon of Robertet. La Bougie Parfumée has notes of Himalayan Nard, sparkling citrus, enveloping ylang-yland and woody notes....

"The fresh citrus and aromatic notes, the vivacious spices (cardamom, cinnamon and cloves), the woody accord of Indian papyrus, patchouli and incense, the sweetness of ylang ylang, the comforting warmth of vanilla come together to create a tingling, sunny ambiance."

Retail price: $70

Le Gel Pour Le Bain et La Douche

"At the heart of the Jatamansi care line, with recognized beneficial properties for the mind and body, the accord of purest essential oils is also present in this organic gel: Jatamansi, bergamot, rose, cardamom, incense and vanilla.

Like all the other products in the Jatamansi body care line, the gel bears the Ecocert and Cosmébio labels.

An ultra-gentle cleansing formula combined with the skin softening properties of vegetable glycerine leave the skin feeling supple and velvety. The fine, delicately scented lather is kind to your skin."

Retail price $50

It's hard for me to understand what could be the benefits of a candle that is organic and certified. I understand all the claims one could put for a body line, but for a candle it is rather unusual.

You mean that the burn would negate the organic qualities of the scent and wax?

My understanding is that the Jatamansi fragrance is aromatherapy grade and so when released either through alcohol or wax warming would have the same benefits.
