Miller Harris Le Petit Grain (2008): A Family Perfume {New Fragrance}

Miller Harris will launch a new Eau de Parfum in the Nouvelle Edition Collection on May 12th 2008 called Le Petit Grain. It is perfumer Lyn Harris' own interpretation of the classic genre of the Eau de Cologne whose origins are traced back to the 18th century to its forerunner, the Aqua Mirabilis.

In keeping with the original spirit of a quasi medicinal preparation that was long considered to hold sufficient virtues to stand as a sort of panacea, Le Petit Grain is described by Lyn Harris as a "family cologne" that all in the household can use.....

Le Petit Grain's composition is based on the different parts of the orange blossom tree, from the oils of the peels of the fruits and flowers, to the distillation and extraction of the leaves.

The sweet orange is said to impart its personality to the scent, while being enhanced with angelica root, eau de brouts absolute, bergamot from Italy and Sicilian lemon. The top notes are anchored with rosemary, red thyme, French tarragon, and lavender. The heart of the perfume reveals petit grain absolute and Tunisian neroli seguing into a base consisting of oak moss, vetiver, and patchouli leaves.

Le Petit Grain is reported to have been composed and finalized in the summer of 2007.

The 100 ml Eau de Parfum will be exclusive to Miller Harris and Selfridges from May 12th 2008.

  2. It is going to be launched in September 2008 in the US, so you should be able to try it more easily than that. I also think she has a sample program on her site if you'd rather not wait beyond May.

    An eau de cologne can be very elegant and also, somehow, cleansing.
