Parfums de Nicolaï Violette in Love, Week-End a Deauville (2009) {New Perfumes}

Niche perfume brand Parfums de Nicolaï will launch two new perfumes for spring 09 called Violette in Love and Week-End à Deauville. Perfumer Patricia de Nicolaï couldn't make up her mind between two equally appealing ideas for a new spring perfume and so decided in the end to introduce a duo.

Violette in Love wishes to be a departure from the traditional powdery violet perfumes of yesteryear and presents itself as being "...fresh, modern, and shimmering..."...

This violet composition reportedly rests on a slightly musky base spiced up by pink pepper and made frutier thanks to raspberry.

Notes are: Italian lemon essence, blackcurrant bud absolute, raspberry, Turkish rose essence, a violet-iris accord, coriander essence, pink pepper, black pepper, musk.

It will be interesting to see what kind of take it is on violet in the context of the violet-trend that started last year.

Week-End à Deauville is inspired by forest-y flowers and the atmosphere of a lovers' getaway weekend in the famous small town on the Normandy coast. This is the place where Chanel decided to woo the fashionables in the early stage of her career. Main notes are muguet, rose, mimosa, oakmoss and spices.

Notes are: Italian bergamot essence, petit grain from Paraguay, galbanum resinoïde, white floral bouquet, pepper essence, pink pepper, clove, oakmoss absolute, styrax balm.

Both Eaux de Toilette are launched as limited-editions for the moment being and are sold exclusively in the 5 Parisian boutiques as well as in their in-store corners.

Each perfume is priced at 47 € for 50 ml
