The Body Shop Love Etc... (2009) {New Perfume}

love-etc-TBS.jpg
The Body Shop will release a new fragrance this fall called Love Etc... inspired like some of their recent beauty products by ethical concerns and social projects. The scent was created by perfumer Dominique Ropion working together with the in-house team.

"We named our new fragrance Love Etc. since love is a powerful force for good. It can take all different shapes and exist between between everyone! But love is also something personal. It's what you MAKE it. What does the "etc" mean to you?"...

"Its wonderful fragrance notes will "wow" your senses with feminine jasmine, combined with delicious and mouth-watering vanilla which intensifies the jasmine's sensuous tones. A veil of creamy musk and enveloping sandalwood join them together, for a unique and exquisite fragrance." Other notes include lily of the valley, heliotrope, pear.

The carried for the scent is a Community Trade alcohol made from sugar cane. The bottle is recyclable.

You can read a PR interview with Dominique Ropion here.

Excerpt:

"What inspires you as a perfumer?

Where do I get my inspiration? I often find it in a central theme composed around one raw material.

I like the idea of working with perfume as an olfactive form, like a sculptor or an architect...Going to the core of a scientific study of the make up of a natural raw material and then being seduced by its beauty all over again is a great satisfaction to me."

The launch of this perfume is the object of particular attention as a dedicated website has been set up. Some TBS stores offer the mini of the body lotion of Love Etc for an extra $1 as a preview to their customers.

Is this anything to do with the Pet Shop Boys' recent single "Love Etc"? They are implanting themselves into the subculture of the fashion after generations of music lovers? Excellent indeed.
