L'Eau d'Issey is going to be bottled in a limited collector edition created to pay homage to architect and designer Ettore Sottsass. The design is directly inspired by one of his drawings which make up an important body of works that was published in part in the book Ettore Sottsass: 700 Drawings.
The flacon is made mostly of handblown glass. According to WWD, technical obstacles had to be surmounted which led to the release of this homage only subsequent to the death of the designer in December 2007.
Edition Ettore Sottsass will be available at select points of sale like the Galeries Lafayette in Paris (50 copies) and the Issey Miyake boutique on rue Royale. It is priced at 300€ or about US $442.
