Versace under the helm of Donatella Versace will pump new life into the Versus collection of fragrances with a new perfume called Versus.
An original Versus scent was launched in 1991 followed by Versus Donna in 1992. Over the years the label expanded but the last time a Versus fragrance was introduced was 2003 with Versus Time for Action. Donatella Versace's goal was to make the scent feel addictive,
"I worked closely on the fragrance to create a perfume that leaves you with the desire of wanting more and more,"...
Versus Versace comes in a purple packaging inspired by the 1990s, Versace fashion, and music .
Versus is fronted by model Lara Stone in an advertisement shot by Craig McDean in Paris and art directed by Fabien Baron making her look uncannily like 1950s-1960s beauty icon Brigitte Bardot. There is currently an exhibition on BB which turned out to be so popular it ihas been extended until March the 5th 2010.
The jus was composed by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. The personality of the scent is described as being romantic but offering a strong edge at the same time. Versus is meant to embody the "rock n' roll soul" of Versace.
Opening notes are energetic citruses like kumquat and lemon
Sustained notes rest on soft orange blossom, jasmin from Madagascar, Rosa centifolia
Lingering notes are sensual white musks, patchouli, ambrette seed.
