Makeup artist François Nars is set to launch his debut fragrance in 2013 or 2014 according to Louis Desazars, chief executive officer of Nars Cosmetics.

The reportedly über-shy creative spirit will be informed by tradition nonetheless as Nars can easily refer back to the perfumes worn by his mother and grand-mother which included Révillon, Shalimar by Guerlain and the cosmetic note of the Caron face powder.

The Nars makeup line already includes a perfume of sorts with his Monoi Body Glow II which smells of tiare and Monoi suntan oil and is inspired by his love of Tahiti where he owns the island of Motu Tané.
