Nars Modern Kabuki For Your Inner Geisha (2011) {Beauty Notes - Makeup - New Products}

NARS Hanamichi Kabuki.JPGMakeup guru François Nars' travels to Japan and his fascination for the beauty rituals of the country resulted in the creation of a special makeup collection for Holiday 2011 called Modern Kabuki, which is dedicated to the "ardent makeup aficionado." The lineup wishes to be "a vibrant, modern, iconic interpretation of the centuries-old dramatic form," Kabuki theater, which was created at the very beginning of the 17th century.

The colors are dramatic, as they should be, with saturated crimson reds contrasted with "icy white" tints. The packaging also borrows directly from the Japanese culture of gift-giving and is the most refined ever for the brand....

The collection will be available from November 1, 2011 on narscosmetics.com. The brush set seen at the end of the post already launched at Barney's this month.

The rundowns:

HANAMICHI KABUKI-INSPIRED EYESHADOW PALETTE (seen above)

Japanese for “flower path,” this Kabuki theater walkway that extends into the audience was the inspiration for this eyeshadow palette, featuring a Kabuki-themed design and accompanied by a mini Kabuki Eye Brush.  The colors are evocative of shades found in Kabuki theater- an icy white with flowers in rich shimmering deep rose and gold and matte black.

Price: $65
