Another big feminine fragrance launch is profiling itself on the horizon for fall 2012 besides La Vie est Belle by Lancôme with Julia Roberts as its spokesperson. Yves Saint Laurent are readying to introduce Manifesto which will be fronted by actress Jessica Chastain...
The free-spirited name of the perfume is echoed by the brand's perception of Chastain whom they think will convincingly embody the message carried by the fragrance.
Perfume, it is usually overlooked, is very much an inspirational form of art with names acting as mottos and messages of encouragements. It is the Hallmark-card side of the art of perfume.
Stephan Bezy of YSL Beauté said,
"“We were won over by the very subtle strength of Jessica Chastain, her solar charm, her free mind. Jessica embodies the quintessence of Saint Laurent’s femininity, a woman of her day and age, independent, determined, never where you expect her to be.”
Jessica Chastain in her turn added,
“Yves Saint Laurent is a brand that inspires me deeply. Since its creation, the brand has conveyed strong values that I cherish, such as unwavering commitment, absolute love and feminine audacity,” “This new fragrance is the emblem of it all. I am thrilled to be a part of this beautiful adventure.”
Manifesto is expected to launch in September 2012.
In the past, actress Isabella Rossellini launched a similarly named perfume called "Manifesto" in 2000 under her own brand name which is still available but through discount stores mostly.
