Jo Malone released a new perfume this September of 2012 called Blackberry & Bay. It was composed by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin of Firmenich who has followed in the footsteps of Christine Nagel as the creator of the most recent fragrances by the brand (Plum Blossom and Velvet Rose & Oud). The official tag line for the launch is "The Scent of Innocence", a description which characterizes well this Eau de Toilette filled with fresh-faced English-countryside charm...

The overall atmosphere is wet, slightly dark, but never brooding.

"Childhood memories of blackberry picking... stained lips, sticky palms."

"A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice and sparkling grapefruit, blending

with the freshness of just-gathered bay. Softened with delicate flowers, resting

on a brambly base of vetiver and cedarwood."

While the childhood theme is emphasized in the story of the fragrance, it is most definitely a grown-up perfume.
