Miss Universe, Miss USA & Miss Teen USA to Have Own Brands of Perfume {Fragrance News} {Beauty Notes}

Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo (Miss USA), is being handed her new crown by Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes

August 2013 will see the launch of a trio of fragrances inspired by the universe of beauty pageantries, and in particular of Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA. Company Omni Scents created by Neil J. Katz in 2012, the former chairman and CEO of Parlux Fragrances Inc, a label specializing in celebrity perfumes, now holds the licenses...

Katz told WWD that the perfumes which will be globally released will aim to reflect "modern perceptions of beauty".

He added that "Miss Universe fragrance collection will, we believe, resonate with women all over the globe who look to each contestant as a representative of what every girl dreams of becoming — beautiful, talented, a winner in every sense,”

Truly, this is a fragrance concept that captures aspirational glamour, as it appeals to every girl who wants to feel confidently beautiful.”

Will the fragrances capture the slightly kitschy style of these pageantries but made sort of iconic and excerbated like in a David LaChapelle picture? Will these scents surf on the wave of perfume-cum-beauty products, i.e., scents infused with actives? Will they just be sensual and pleasant to wear?
At any rate, thank god, we are not seeing under-age pageantry perfumes, because these could really be too weird, like the dance number by the heroine Olive in Little Miss Sunshine.
More to come in 2013.
