Robert Piguet Parfums have launched a new perfume for women dedicated to that classic, mythical note of perfumery, rose, that some perfumers consider to be their holy grail quest for olfactory perfection. Apparently, they are so enthusiastic about the result at Robert Piguet that they decided to name it, quite simply, Rose Perfection...

The jus was concocted by perfumer Aurélien Guichard of Givaudan who has become their de facto in-house perfumer, or better said perhaps, their perfumer at large.

The perfume "embodies the elegance of a woman with an intrinsically classic sense of style. The fragrant scent blooms with the creamy softness of several types of roses underscored by a gentle caress of musk. It opens with top notes of rose oil Bulgaria, which blend into middle notes of rose absolute and ends with base notes of ambroxan and musk."

Not much is being revealed about the secret touches that went into blending this perfect rose except the noncommittal "several types of roses".

It launches this month at Harvey Nichols as an exclusive. Price is £135 for 100 ml.
