Coach Leatherware No.01, No.02 & No.03: Three Ways to Smell the Scent of Baseball Gloves {New Fragrances in 2013} {Men's Colognes}

Coach have launched a collection of three perfumes all inspired by the iconic scent of leather baseball gloves. Leatherware No.01, Leatherware No. 02 and Leatherware No. 03 come in three shades of amber from light to amber and finally to dark amber to interject a synaesthetic element,...

All three perfumes were designed for men, which is somewhat unusual from a marketing standapoint, pointing to a deliberate choice, as the perfume category is usually led by feminines. They could alternatively have been more safely targeting an unisex crowd, or do a feminine, masculine and unisex.

Needless to say, only the smell counts so if you're a woman and like, say, Yatagan by Caron, who is to prevent you from laying your mitts on these masculine colognes, provided they are not overly coded with notes of aftershave lotion?

Leatherware No. 1 is:

"A clean, sophisticated fragrance created in the apothecary tradition, Coach Leatherware No. 01 opens with bright citrus, fresh coriander and saffron, reveals an intense heart of aromatic greens and nutmeg, and finishes with a base of rich woods blended with the scent of baseball glove leather—a distinctive, masculine note inspired by our tradition in leatherware, and created exclusively for Coach."

Leatherware No. 2 is:

"an uplifting, artisanal fragrance. Refreshing citrus and rhubarb leaves top an energizing heart of black pepper, crisp greens and thyme—an herb once believed to bring courage to those who wore it. A warm, sophisticated base blends oakmoss, patchouli and musk with the scent of baseball glove leather,"

"a rich, modern blend of historically prized artisanal ingredients. Fresh, clean notes of pink pepper, cardamom, lemon and cypress top a heart combining rare orris and warm cedarwood with the scent of baseball glove leather. Aromatic woods, earthen patchouli and papyrus, and vetiver create a strong, masculine base."
