Issey Miyaké L'Eau d'Issey Lotus & L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Yuzu (2014) {New Perfumes}

Fashion designer Issey Miyaké will launch a her-and-him duo next spring 2014 with two new iterations of the modern classic L'Eau d'Issey (1992) called L'Eau d'Issey Lotus and L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Yuzu, thereby paying homage to two indigenous plants to Asia...

To reinforce the synesthetic association with Asian culture, the bottles have been colored a shade of green between bamboo green and macha green.

As their names indicate, each fragrance, while keeping the original signature perfume will incorporate a new inflection. The lotus is an aquatic flower and yuzu is a crisp agrume - they mesh well with the spirit of L'Eau d'Issey.

They are limited-editions. Launch date is January 27, 2014.

L'Eau d'Issey Lotus 90ml, 97 euros

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Yuzu 125ml, 80 euros

On a separate perfume-history note, consider how the year 1992 saw the launch of two very different modern classics a priori, L'Eau d'Issey and Angel by Thierry Mugler, both having led two opposing aesthetic currents although one could argue that water and food go well together. They are in fact complementary.
