Givenchy have released a novel flanker to last year's masculine creation Gentlemen Only, fronted by The Mentalist actor Simon Baker. The new jus has proven to be the house bestseller for men.  The new iteration is called Gentlemen Only Intense...

According to WWD, “Gentleman Only has been a tremendous success and the idea was really to capitalize on this success. We feel we hold in our hands a terrific concept and a very promising franchise,” said Thierry Maman, global president of Parfums Givenchy, part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. He elaborated that Gentleman Only has become Givenchy’s best-selling men’s fragrance..."

Buoyed by the popularity of the scent, which has benefited from the involvement of Simon Baker - in spite of Givenchy initial reservations as to the hiring of a TV series actor for their luxury label image - the perfume brand now aims higher, “the objective is to have the Gentleman Only franchise in the top 10 of men’s fragrances worldwide at the end of 2014.”

You can watch a behind-the-scenes trailer below,

"Gentlemen Only Intense offers a sensual, powerful and subtle version of Gentlemen Only." It is also proposed as the night time version of its predecessor, offering a new leathery sensation and skin-friendly note.

The woody ambery Eau de Toilette opens on top notes of green mandarin, a trio of peppercorns and birch leaf followed by a core of patchouli, Texas cedarwood and a leather accord. It lingers thanks to tonka bean and incense.

Price: 57,90€ for 50 ml and 79,50€ for 100 ml.

  1. Simon Baker has the best "smile". It just melts my heart. Good job in your selection "Givenchy"!

    • They were a bit antsy about hiring a TV actor as they thought it might be too pop culture of a choice. But in fact, "luxury" perfume brands need to court a larger base so when it works, they're really glad.
