The 7 Virtues Patchouli of Rwanda (2014) {New Fragrance}

patchouli_rwanda.jpg The 7 Virtues are preparing to introduce a new fragrance this time based on a sustainable and organic patchouli crop from Rwanda. It's called Patchouli of Rwanda...

The house founded by Barbara Stegemann in 2010 specializes in bringing humanitarian relief by encouraging cultivation of perfume plants in countries torn apart by war, drug cartels, politics and/or poverty.

The experience started out with Afghanistan with Orange Blossom and Noble Rose, and since then has included Vetiver of Haiti and Middle East Peace.

You can read more about the inspirational story behind the founding of the brand here. Stegemann, it must be noted, does not earn a salary through her business venture, her income being based on her motivational talks and sales of her book, The 7 Virtues of a Philosopher Queen.

"Patchouli of Rwanda Eau de Parfum is a refreshing unisex fragrance with lasting notes of organic patchouli oil. Our Rwandan supplier employs adult orphans and widows of the genocide. This fragrance is a gentle reminder that we are rebuilding together."

Fragrance notes are green hibiscus, red grapefruit, cedar flower, freesia and earthy patchouli.

The new scent launches on September 21, 2014 to coincide with International Peace Day.
