Advertisings at the jardin du Luxembourg show the current exhibit on the portraits of the Tudors at the palais du Luxembourg, while a roll-on subway ad repeatedly flashes an ad for the new season of the Kardashian TV show...
The parallel is distant yet obvious. Two powerful, over-the-top, dramatic clans then and now in portraiture and on the TV screen.
Their common point: both families are great material for entertainment for today's leisure society.
At least, this is what you've heard no doubt even if you haven't watched the TV series or visited the National Gallery.
