If you can detect a sign that there is renewed hope in the celebrity fragrance market this fall is through the intimacy trend promoted by divas using their nicknames to baptize their perfumes: after RiRi by Rihanna, expect Ari by Ariana Grande (Lady Gaga will have to drop her title)...
In the age of social media promiscuity, it comes naturally to fans and stars alike to use the shortened forms of first names to emphasize closeness of communication and virtual relationships. Now, you can not only smell like Ariana but think of her as closer to you than one degree of separation with "Ari."
The new fragrance was developed by Designer Parfums.
Grande unveiled her debut scent on Instagram affirming, "It smells like a dream."
Notes, according to the dedicated website, are: "sparkling fruits and an ultra-feminine florally passionately spun with musks and woods and an addictive hint of marshmallow."
The singer is seen roller-skating in a black-and-white teaser.
Back in February, she had told WWD that she is a big fan of perfume and a long-time obsessive user of scents,
"I have always been obsessed with perfume. I always carried like six different scents in my bag, another three in my suitcase and another couple in my car," said Grande in a statement. "I'm asked so often about which fragrance I'm wearing, or if I have a signature scent. I do have favorites, but I really want to create something that encompasses everything I love...which is why I am so excited to create my personal fragrance I can call my own."
Ari will be available from September 2015.
