Burberry Mr. Burberry & My Burberry Black: Hoping for Mr. Right (2016) {New Perfumes}

mr_burberry_perfume.jpg British fashion house Burberry have announced they are planning two new fragrance launches for 2016, Mr. Burberry and My Burberry Black...

The first one is the masculine counterpart to My Burberry, while the second one develops a more "sensual" side to My Burberry.

The brand is said to still be on the lookout for a star perfume which epitomizes the success of the label.

Mr. Burberry is a reworked woody, herbaly fougère whose formulation was entrusted to perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. He is well known for his modern fougère Le Mâle by Jean Paul Gaultier. It's, in a way, like asking a skilled specialist surgeon to take care of your ailment and hope for the best.

The eau de toilette opens on top notes of zesty grapefruit, tarragon and cardamom leading to a core of birch leaf, nutmeg oil and cedarwood while the base rests on sandalwood, vetiver and guaiac wood.

The ad campaign will be fronted by Josh Whitehouse.

Simona Cattaneo, senior vice president of beauty at Burberry said that the composition is "inspired by the heritage of British male perfumery," She added that,

"Mr. Burberry is a structure of a classic aromatic fougère that has inspired so many famous fragrances, but this has been totally remodeled and remastered to introduce a radically contemporary creation in its proportions and ingredients,"

Launch date: April 2016

My Burberry Black, a flanker to My Burberry, is also signed by Francis Kurkdjian. It's apparently not considered as much of a major launch and test for the brand. The eau de toilette is said to open on jasmine flower seguing into a heart of candied rose and peach nectar, and drying down to amber and patchouli.

No visuals of the bottle are available so here's a redux of a behind-the-scenes for My Burberry with Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss.

Launch date: February 2016
