Annick Goutal have launched a new perfume for both men and women as befits the niche-perfumery ethos, which is inspired by an ideal recreation of the pompon rose varietal. It is called Rose Pompon in French...

The fragrance - an eau de toilette - was co-created by Camille Goutal and perfumer Philippine Courtière.

It appears from the press materials that Camille Goutal considers herself to be a perfumer as well at this point in time of her career. Both collaborators present the common point of having started out in other professions, that of photographer for Goutal and lawyer for Courtière.

The composition was motivated by the idea of expressing the scent of a fresh and sparkling garden pompon rose with a touch of Parisian chic and all-around joie de vivre.

From a perfumery perspective, the noses promise the perfume is about a "new rose" revealing "a daring modernity". Its freshness is said to be "addictive".

The edt opens on top notes of pink peppercorn, green cassis and velvety raspberry followed by a heart showcasing the very pompon rose of their imagination. The accord rests on the comingling of Bulgarian rose and Taïf rose freshened up by a dash of peony. The base is anchored by cedarwood, patchouli and white musks.

SRPs: 106€ for 100 ml and 79€ for 50 ml.
