French interior designer house Astier de Villatte are expanding their library of sophisticated eaux de cologne created in 2008 with Elixir du Dr Flair, Splash Orange Amère & Grand Chalet...

Usually composed by perfumer Françoise Caron of Takasago, this time, she has teamed up with « nez » Christophe Raynaud, the author of the much more mainstream perfume 1 Million by Paco Rabanne (2008).

Splash Orange Amère sounds like a re-interpretation of the olfactive theme Caron developed for Hermès with Eau d'Orange Verte, a bitter orange cologne which has become a classic. The new scent features notes of Brazilian oranges and Calabrian bergamot leaves.

Grand Chalet is a linden blossom and mimosa opus.

Elixir du Dr Flair is said to be a woody fragrance freshened up by lavandin, that more robust cousin of lavender.

The line has also been re-packaged in new, hand-blown glass bottles.

The brand have opened a second boutique in Paris at 16 rue de Tournon in the VIth arrondissement.

Three sizes are available for the fragrances, in 50 ml, 150 ml and 900 ml, priced from 85€ to 320€.
