Yu by Mane {New Fragrance} {Luxury Perfume}
As previously announced, Mane has launched Yu ("rain" in Chinese), one of the most expensive fragrances available on the market today at $5000. It was composed by nose Cecile Krakower of Mane. Only 500 bottles of the scent were produced and are currently available at Bergdorf Goodman. May 2, 2007French Lover by Frederic Malle Now Available {Shopping Tip} Editions de Parfums have now released French Lover as promised on May 2. From the website: "A new interpretation of Angelica orchestrated by Pierre Bourdon The utopian quest of the ideal man fragrance: a skin enhancer both brutal, due to its overdoses and sophisticated, due to its ingredients." It retails for 90 Euros for a 50 ml spray bottle and 135 Euros for 100 ml. A set of 3 spray refills each of 10 ml is also available for 55 Euros.

Alien Rituel Prodige by Thierry Mugler {Fragrance News} {Bath & Body}
Thierry Mugler is launching a body care set based on the fragrance Alien. It is called Rituel Prodige (Prodigious Ritual) and comprises a perfumed body oil concentrated at 5% and a dazzling gold-colored wax. If you want to approximate the look of the Bond girl in Gold Finger and smell of big white flowers on top of that, well your fantasy is about to come true. Yves Rocher Tomate-Basilic & Poivron Liquid Hand Soaps {Bath & Body} {Fragrance News}
Yves Rocher has created two unconventional fragrances to perfume his liquid soaps called Tomate-Basilic (Tomato-Basil) and Poivron (Red Pepper). The sweet-gourmand trend is overwhelmingly present on the market and so to see a savory-gourmand trend develop in mass-marketed products is a refreshing concept. One could argue that in some countries tomatoes are not considered to be vegetables but fruits and are eaten with sugar, but within the Mediterranean culture context, these scents evoke lovely kitchen memories.....

Rose Essentielle by Bulgari {Perfume Review & Musings}
As the summer approaches I want to retain the mood of spring and crave freshness and dewiness more than at the end of winter when all one can think of is about the forthcoming warmer days. As the temperature heats up I anticipate some of the more scorching days of summer and realize that I want to cultivate a freshness that is precisely that of spring, not that of winter nor of summer's cooler days. Perfumes help us cultivate the moment and turn the wheel of time a little. Rose Essentielle by Bulgari feels just right for today's purpose of slowing down the advance of the season and put back the arm of the clock to that position in earlier spring when the new chilliness was too close to the rough cold to be fully appreciated. Especially in New England where temperatures can swing from one extreme to the other in record time, fragrances may prove helpful in making one not feel entirely deprived of these more subtle-feeling days......... Marc Jacobs, after the success of Marc Jacobs, (2001) his fragrance based on gardenia and aimed at thirthy-something women, is now thinking about their younger counterparts, and will propose a new fragrance called Daisy, a flower he sees as a symbol of happiness and youthfulness. Harbor Beauty Bar, A New Destination in Maine for Beauty Aficionados {Scented Paths & Fragrant Addresses} Gail Gordon together with her sister Suzan Theriault have opened a new beauty spot in Rockland, Maine called Harbor Beauty Bar. The main concept here is to offer beauty products and fragrances as you would showcase jewelry and to do so in sea-resort towns. The owners are natives of Rockland. They plan to open another boutique in the future in Newport, Rhode Island. Their new sanctuary carries some carefully selected fragrances and beauty products, including men's beauty products.
