May 15, 2007Le Temps D'Une Fête by Parfums de Nicolaï {Perfume Review & Musings} {New Perfume}
Le Temps d'Une Fête (The Time of a Celebration) smells like a spring perfume that would have been composed in the depth of winter. It combines the effervescence of green sappy notes with a deeper base composed of the stillness of a snowy landscape, the warmth of a burning fire in the hearth, and heavy velvet curtains hanging under very tall cold ceilings in an anciently built stone manor. The result is unusual on a certain level, making one think of a green fur scent. It could be the scent of a woman naked under a mink fur coat taking a stroll barefoot in the early dewy morning of a spring day in her park. She walks towards the edge of a small wood and decides to rest and then falls into contemplation as the green incense-y notes of the perfume call her mind to mirror their tranquility. Unfortunately, the more poetic, vital, and contemplative aspects of this perfume slowly fade into the less colorful region of, dare we say so, intellectual boredom.......

Actress Salma Hayek is the face for In Bloom by Avon, a new limited edition perfume that will debut in September 2007 and her fourth perfume. It was created by Firmenich and is described as a sensual floral fragrance centering on a flamboyant and fresh bouquet. It will retail 35 Euros for 50 ml. Source: Au Féminin

Lacoste Elegance by Lacoste {New Perfume}
The upscale sportswear brand Lacoste will release a new masculine fragrance called Lacoste Elegance. It is aimed at a less sporty type, a sophisticated man in his thirties. The scent is described as an oriental fougère and includes notes of spices and chocolate. The bottle is a cylinder made out of glass and metal. The fragrance will be available in July 2007 in Europe and the United States and in September in the remaining parts of the world. Source: copines.ca

In August of 2007, Fresh will introduce a new fragrance called Mangosteen Eau de Parfum to mark its 16th anniversary. It will be accompanied by ancillary body-care products. Mangosteen is a delicious fruit from Southeast Asia offering a subtle aroma and taste that seems hard to capture in perfumery.
